9-April, Easter Eve: Easter is upon us and for everyone it’s a very, very different Easter.
There’s quite a bit of tension in our local community as the lockdown hits. Given we live in a very popular holiday area, with many holiday homes, there’s a lot of angst about owners coming down and increasing the risk of spreading the virus into our area, as we have had very few cases. Our medical facilities are geared to a smaller community, with the largest nearby hospital being in Geelong.
It’s sobering to hear and read on local social media the sentiment across the community – the fear the Pandemic is creating isn’t nice…
On the other hand, for every unpleasant thing you hear, there are at least double to triple positive ones, so it’s not all bad, thankfully !
For us, we were meant to be visiting very dear friends up on the Gold Coast, as we have done each Easter for the last few years – our hearts slowly sank over the previous few weeks, as it became obvious the impact the Pandemic would have to future plans. So we cancelled flights and reset our minds, hearts and souls to an Easter in Lockdown…
With our expectations adjusted, time to get on with enjoying an Easter at home. So, on a delightful Autumn’s eve, we soothed our souls with a stroll along a calm beach with the puppies. Ohh to be a dog on a beach ! Watching Alice and Gracie play in the shallows made us smile without trying, what a Happy Soul Food moment…
